Ferndale Elks Spread Holiday Cheer and Support
(Oscar Renautt, Dec. 23, 2021)
Ferndale, MI – We all have holiday traditions and we celebrate holidays in different ways.  The Elks members honor the old and long standing tradition of giving to less fortunate in our community.
On December 18 Ferndale Elks members assembled and delivered 100 food baskets to families in need.  The Elks members held many events and worked the whole year to raise funds for this activity.
It was especially important to help others this year as pandemic and other factors made it difficult for many to enjoy holidays.  Our objective is to ease a burden even for one day and to put a smile on someone’s face.
That’s why few days before Christmas day we delivered 65 presents and 16 TVs to Veterans in need at the Hamilton House Nursing Facility in downtown Detroit.
All together this month the Lodge has raised over $25,000 to help our community.
As our society is continuing to address hardship and healthcare coverage issues for our senior citizens and veterans our lodge is continuing to work to close these gaps to our best ability through the charity work.
We are located at 22856 Woodward Ave, on the corner of Woodward and Vester. Check us out online at  www.elks1588.com, and on Facebook.  Like what you see? Then come join the club!
