False 911 Call Prompts Lockdown at Walled Lake Central

Commerce Twp, MI – Students and staff were on lockdown Tuesday morning after a 911 caller claimed there were shots fired at Walled Lake Central High School in Commerce Township.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Office originally reported:
We received a report of shots fired at Walled Lake Central High School at 8:31. We have multiple units and other local police departments on scene clearing the building right now.
A primary search has been completed and there are no injuries and still no confirmed shots fired. The school is in lockdown. A secondary search is underway.
This was followed up with this update:
There were not shots fired and there are no injuries at Walled Lake Central High School. We have cancelled any more police response to the high school. The investigation continues as to the source of the original 911 call.
