Shooting at Duckett’s Bar in Pontiac Leaves One Man Dead

Pontiac, MI- Deputies, the Waterford Regional Fire Department (WRFD), and Star EMS responded to Duckett’s Bar located at 325 W. Walton Boulevard on the report of shots fired. Another called advised that a male subject had been shot.
Deputies observed multiple subjects rapidly exiting the bar parking lot in multiple vehicles upon arrival. Deputies entered the bar and located a male gunshot wound victim. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his right arm, the right side of his chest, and his neck. Deputies rendered aid to the victim until Star EMS and the WRFD arrived and took over life-saving measures.
Paramedics transported the victim to McLaren Oakland Hospital, where a physician pronounced the subject deceased.
Deputies located two sets of shell casings in two separate locations. It appeared as if two shooters were involved in a running gun battle in the parking lot. Several businesses in the area had been damaged by gunfire. The employees of the bar stated that a fight had occurred outside. They reported hearing gunshots. The victim ran inside the bar and collapsed.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Detectives, the OCSO Forensic Science Laboratory, and an Investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and began their respective investigations. The Medical Examiner took custody of the deceased. An autopsy has been scheduled. Detectives are obtaining video from area businesses.. An OCSO K9 initiated a search for additional potential victims. None were located.
