Deputies Investigating Shooting at Beaumont Health Clinic in Orion Township UPDATED

Orion Township – Assault with a Firearm /Attempted Murder / Armed Robbery – #21-254655
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the 1400 block of block of Lapeer Road, Beaumont Medical Center for a shooting that just occurred. The victim had been shot in a vehicle in the parking lot while engaged in a transaction to pay a debt for marijuana. The suspect (known to the victim) pulled out a black semi-auto handgun and demanded all of the victim’s money. A struggle ensued in the vehicle and the suspect shot the victim in the right knee. As the victim fled the vehicle, the suspect attempted to shoot the victim again, but the firearm did not discharge. Three suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction, in a 4 door, Chevrolet Malibu, dark metallic blue in color.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The Orion Twp. Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. Responding Deputies searched and cleared the facility. Detectives were able to positively identify a possible suspect that shot the victim and he is being sought. Area businesses and Beaumont were put into a lock down while the building was cleared. The investigation is ongoing.

SUSPECT VEHICLE: 4 door, Chevrolet Malibu, dark metallic blue in color

Orion Twp, MI – We just had a shooting occur at approx. 4:25pm the 1455 S. Lapeer Rd. at the Beaumont Health Clinic. The shooting occurred in the parking lot and the only victim we are aware of at this time is in transport to a local hospital.
This is not an active shooter situation but businesses nearby have been told to lock down as a precaution until we totally clear the Beaumont building.
