Dec 4 – Lake Orion Lighted Christmas Parade
Lake Orion is the home of the largest lighted Christmas Parade in Michigan! The event—organized by the volunteers of the Orion Area Parade Group (OAPG)— happens the first Saturday each December. This year it’s Dec.4 at 6pm in Downtown Lake Orion.
With our fun theme of “Christmas in Toyland”, we encourage participants and downtown businesses to light up the night and celebrate the season using toys to depict the holiday spirit. Register your group to participate online by December 1. Subscribe to our email newsletter or follow our Facebook page for updates.
The parade will go on as planned but we will be mindful of any COVID restrictions that are in place at the time of the event. The committee will continue to monitor the situation as plans develop.
No Orion Lighted Christmas Parade would be complete without the appearance of Santa and Mrs. Claus to usher in the holiday season. Expect to see the red couple in full force again this year!
The Orion Lighted Christmas Parade has been a Lake Orion tradition for over 25 years and has the distinction of being one of the largest lighted Christmas parades in Michigan. The OAPG is staffed by volunteers and counts on the support of the community to bring this event to town each year.
