Funding Available For Businesses to Set Up Apprentice Programs

(Oakland County, Nov. 4, 2021)

Oakland County, MI – Employers: Looking for a competitive edge, an advantage over your competitors that will pay dividends today and well into the future?  Are you faced with staffing shortage and struggling to retain workers?

Advantage: Apprenticeships Funding Program is a new program from Oakland County Michigan Works! designed to help employers in a variety of industries pay for the cost of developing a registered apprenticeship program focused on work-based learning. Apprentices are eager to join your team, learn and contribute as loyal employees. They help you build a diverse, highly skilled workforce that helps grow your business.

Join us for a special virtual workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 16, as we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week and launch the Advantage: Apprenticeships Funding Program. More than $500,000 in funding is available to eligible employers to help offset the costs of launching a registered apprenticeship program.

During this event, you will also learn about why military veterans are ideal candidates for apprentice positions.

Confirmed speakers include:
