Semi Smashes into Building in Oxford

INCIDENT: 01:44 hrs. – Oxford Township – Semi Truck vs. Building/Personal Injury Accident (PIA) – #21-214476
SUMMARY: A Deputy on patrol was approached by a citizen who advised that a semi-truck had struck a commercial building in the 600 block of South Lapeer Road.
The Deputy responded to the area and saw the semi-truck lodged into the Hometown Family Practice and MobiCare at 605 S. Lapeer Road. The driver was incoherent and sustained a head injury. The Oxford Fire Department was called to the scene. The semi-truck has a dash camera and video is available from that also.

OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The Deputy and firefighters removed the driver from the truck. Paramedics transported him to an area hospital where he is in stable condition.
The semi-truck could not be removed from the building without causing more damage. A commercial contractor was called to secure the structure.
