Reporter Food: Mario’s Golden Nugget in Oxford
A lovely salad and wrap was had recently at Mario’s Golden Nugget Restaurant in Oxford. Located at 1055 S Lapeer Rd, this family restaurant has plenty of parking and a welcoming atmosphere for dining in or carrying out.
For my inaugural visit I had the Very Berry Salad. This lovely mix of flavors was made with fresh spinach, generous slices of avocado, blue cheese, fresh strawberries, dried cherries, pineapples, and pecans. This creative combination made for a fantastic lunch. I also had the Chicken Strip Wrap, with crispy golden chicken strips, cheddar, lettuce and tomatoes served with a side of Ranch dressing and a cup of chili.  Mmmmm…
Other wrap choices include Avocado Club Wrap, Joni’s Honey BBQ Wrap, Chicken Salad Wrap and more. There are over a dozen sandwich options in addition to the wraps – with Turkey Delight, Grilled Ham and Cheese, and BLT among them.
Mario’s is also known for their breakfast choices, including Very Berry Crepes, Country Fried Steak and Eggs, and Omelet’s like their Hawaiian Omelet filled with ham, pineapple, and Swiss. For more breakfast and lunch choices, check out their menu online.
