Sept. 18 – Superheroes Invited to Walk for Miracles at Detroit Zoo

Royal Oak, MI – Superheroes of all ages are invited to Beaumont Children’s “Walk for Miracles” at the Detroit Zoo, at 8450 W. 10 Mile Rd., on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.  with the walk beginning at 8:30 a.m. . All proceeds benefit Children’s Miracle Network programming at Beaumont Children’s.

Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero or fantasy character. Children will meet Super Beau, the Beaumont Children’s mascot bear, and other popular fairytale and comic book heroes. Families will enjoy snacks and refreshments and each child will receive a superhero cape.

Walkers must register for the event and make a minimum donation: $25 per adult and $5 per child, ages 2-14. Children under 2 are free. Walk registration includes same-day admission to the Detroit Zoo. Additional fundraising is encouraged, and each walker gets his/her own fundraising page to share with friends and family. T-shirts will be given to each walker raising at least $50 and those raising $100 or more will receive a T-shirt and four tickets to attend this year’s Zoo Boo.  Team registrations are available, and fundraising totals can be tracked online.  Visit to register in advance.

This year’s walk will look different than previous years, with the highest importance placed on the health and safety of our supporters. Therefore, registration will be limited to the first 1,500 registrants to ensure social distancing.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada. Its fundraising partners and programs support the nonprofit’s mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
