Reporter Food: Mookey’s Beans & Greens in Oak Park

Oak Park, MI  -Looking for super easy soul food? Mookey’s Beans & Greens in Oak Park has a cafeteria-style counter full of hearty Southern favorites for those looking to carry-out a good meal, as well as trays for catering.
Guests can choose from classics like meatloaf, catfish, ham hocks, fried wings, baked chicken, neckbones and pigs feet.  And there is peach cobbler served up for dessert.
Ordering enough for a couple meals I got the fried pork chops with dressing and northern beans with hammocks, as well as the rib tips with mac n’ cheese and yams. The meals also came with squares of cornbread. The rib tips were perfectly tender and swimming in a tangy bbq sauce, and the pork chops were crispy coated and delicious. Other side item choices include black eye peas, rice, greens, and green beans with potatoes.
Mookey’s Beans and Greens is located at 26076 Greenfield Rd, Oak Park, MI 48237 in the Lincoln Shopping Center.  I wasn’t able to find a website but they are included on Grubhub, and one can order carryout that way.
