DNR Offering Grants up to $15,000 for Community Forestry Projects
(ReLeaf Michigan, Aug. 8, 2021)
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has announced its Community Forestry Grant Program for 2022. This year, up to $15,000 is available for projects such as:

  • Tree inventories and management plans.
  • Urban forest master plans or strategic plans.
  • Tree maintenance connected to strategic activities in a plan or tree inventory.
  • Professional staff training.
  • Tree ordinance review and development.
  • Urban wood utilization programs.

There are several changes to this year’s program, so it’s important to read the application carefully to be most competitive. That’s why ReLeaf Michigan is partnering with Davey Resource Group to offer a helpful webinar.
Webinar: August 10th, 11am
To help make sure your application has the best chance of being accepted, ReLeaf Michigan and Davey Resource Group, Inc. are hosting an informational webinar about this and other funding opportunities on August 10th at 11am. The webinar will cover program changes, tips and tricks to write a compelling Michigan Community Forestry Grant application, and other funding sources to support tree planting in local communities.
