Downtown Birmingham will once again come alive with the sound of music, during the In the Park Summer Concert series Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in Shain Park. The series kicks off on Wednesday, July 28 with pop/rock band, Mainsteet Soul. During this safe, fun and substance-free event series, visitors will enjoy the vibrant outdoor atmosphere and beautiful park setting while listening to performances from local bands playing a wide variety of music genres.

Concerts will be held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. from July 28 – September 8.

The line-up is as follows:

July 28 – Mainstreet Soul (Pop/Rock)

August 4 – Major Dudes (Tribute to Steely Dan)

August 11 – Alan Turner (Country)

August 18 – Jill Jack (Folk)

August 25 – Ben Sharkey (Pop)

September 1 – Sun Messengers (R&B Showband)

September 8 – “The Byron Legacy Show” Bringing Vegas to You, Starring Byron Cancelmo

“We are thrilled to resume the In the Park Summer Concert series in Shain Park this summer! With last year’s series cancelled due to the pandemic, we are excited to resume this special, long-standing community tradition with a wonderful line-up of bands,” said Birmingham Director of Public Services, Lauren Wood.

Shain Park is located at Merrill Street and Bates Street. Parking is available at the Chester Street and Pierce Street Parking Structures (the first two hours are free in all parking structures).
