Home Invasion Suspect Arrested in Ferndale
At approximately 11:38 p.m. on August 3, an individual committed a home invasion in the 200 block of E Chesterfield.  The homeowner was alerted by noise, discovered the crime, and immediately called 911.  The suspect fled on foot.  Ferndale officers responded and a perimeter was established to locate the suspect.
At approximately 1:35 a.m. on August 4, Ferndale police officers, assisted by other agencies, located the suspect hiding in the 300 block of Spencer.
Officers recovered stolen property along the suspect’s route.  A stolen handgun was also recovered when officers arrested the suspect.  The investigation revealed the suspect broke into several cars in the neighborhood before the home invasion.  The recovered firearm was taken from one of the vehicle break-ins.
The case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office and the suspect was charged.

Today, August 5, Michael Davis, 26, of Detroit was arraigned by 43rd District Magistrate Brennan on the following charges:
Home Invasion-1st Degree, 1 count, 20-year felony
Larceny of a Firearm, 1 count, 5-year felony
Firearm in Possession by Felon, 1 count, 5-year felony
Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, 2 counts, 2-year felony
Davis was given a $100,000 cash or surety bond.  Davis’ next court appearance is scheduled for August 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., at the 43rd District Court Ferndale Division.
