Carjacking Suspect Dead After Chase and Home Invasion in Holly
Holly, MI – E. Maple Road in Holly was closed Tuesday night when a man and woman barricaded themselves in a resident’s home following a police chase. According to Michigan State Police, the couple – identified as 39-year old William Lanham and 40 year old Michelle Holladay – reportedly had carjacked a woman earlier in the day in Monroe County.
According to tweets from Michigan State Police, the couple and the stolen van were spotted going to the rest area on I-75 north just before Holly. When troopers tried to pull over the van, the driver fled, exiting on E. Holly Road.
The vehicle crashed into two other vehicles along E. Holly Road, and was abandoned on a lawn on E. Maple Road. The suspects ran into an occupied home, and the residents were released unharmed. After a standoff with police, the woman surrendered, and the man was found dead inside of a gunshot wound.
