Reporter Food: Condado Tacos
(Crystal A. Proxmire, July 27, 2021)
Royal Oak, Troy, MI- In the mood for tacos? Condado Tacos – with Midwest locations that include Royal Oak and Troy – has a bunch available! Eat in or carryout, there are tacos to suit many moods.
For my visit I had the Bud Box – a combo of two tacos and queso blaco.
For the tacos I had the Braised + Confused (soft flour shell, rice, brisket, jicama + cabbage slaw, pickled red onions, queso fresco, and chipotle crema), and the High Rise Breakfast taco (soft flour shell, queso blanco, rice, black beans, scrambled eggs, cilantro, onions and dirty sauce).
I also got the Hard Shell Corn Taco with ground beef, lettuce, cilantro, onion, and Middlefield smoked cheddar.
Each was tasty in it’s own way, with the ingredients being fresh and flavorful. Among the many other taco choices are the Dutch Dragon (Flour soft + hard corn shells with guacamole, roasted portobellos, tomatoes, jicama + cabbage slaw, pickled jalapeños, corn salsa, and salsa verde), The El Tradicional (Flour soft shell, guacamole, house-made chorizo, cilantro + onions, and queso fresco), and the Bad Habit (Ju-Ju shell, tequila-lime steak*, rice, lettuce, pico de gallo, queso fresco, Mexican chimichurri, and habanero-mango sauce). Guests may also build their own from a fine list of ingredients.
The regional chain began in Columbus, OH and has over 20 locations. Check out the full menu at www.CondadoTacos.com.
