Reporter Food: The Bread and Yolk in Lake Orion

Lake Orion, MI – The Bread and the Yolk is a popular spot in Orion Township for breakfast, lunch and brunch thanks to their menu full of creative meals with fresh, thoughtful ingredients.
I recently joined a friend for breakfast and simply couldn’t decide what to get because there were so many good choices. He kept his meal simple, with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, diced potatoes, and toast. I opted for an order of strawberry crepes and a sweet potato skillet to take home for later.
The crepes were an obviously good choice, with fresh strawberries in a sweet strawberry sauce and a dollop of whipped cream.
The skillet was a magnificent feast, featuring red pepper, onion, sausage, spinach, sweet potato, and two eggs. What a great way to get some healthy energy to start the day.
There are many great choices on The Bread and Yolk’s menu, including some “eggcellent choices” like avocado toast, corned beef hash skillets, lemon pancakes, yogurt parfaits, chicken and waffles, chorizo skillets and more.
There are also lunchtime items like the chicken strip pita, the turkey reuben, and salads like the Cobb and the arugula and chicken salad. The busy restaurant has seating inside and out, and a friendly staff that hustles to keep everyone happy and well-fed.
