Rochester Hills Man Fatally Shot After Altercation in Traffic
(Troy Police, July 6, 2021)
Troy, MI – At 9:44 pm on July 5, 2021, the Troy Police Department received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the parking lot of Shell Gas, 3990 Rochester Road.
Responding officers arrived and found one male victim who had been injured. Officers and responding paramedics treated injuries on scene and he was transported to a local hospital where he died.
The victim is identified as a 55-year-oldmale from Rochester Hills.
Preliminary information indicated the victim had been involved in a traffic altercation with a white Jeep Cherokee prior to the shooting.
Gas station security video showed the passenger of the white Jeep Cherokee being involved in the shooting and then fleeing the scene afterwards.
Early this morning the occupants of the Jeep Cherokee arrived at the Troy Police Department and identified themselves.
The passenger of the Jeep was taken into custody following additional investigation and interviews.
The report will be submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office for review and charging determination.
