Reporter Food: The Moose Preserve in Bloomfield Hills
(Crystal Proxmire, June 21, 2021)
Bloomfield Hills, MI- It was lovely to meet a friend for lunch on the patio of The Moose Preserve, located at just north of Square Lake Road on Woodward Avenue in Bloomfield Hills.
They had the Wally Tacos, made with Beer-battered walleye, Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, remoulade slaw, and tomato. This beautifully presented trio of tacos came with a side of black beans and Spanish rice.
For me, the Southern Fried Chicken Dinner was a good choice. This massive meal had five pieces of buttermilk battered fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, and a cornbread muffin. That was a perfect food to munch on while catching up, with plenty of leftovers for later. My friend was pleased with her Wally Tacos as well.
There are burgers and sandwiches on The Moose Preserve menu, as well as entrees like St. Ignace Salmon, Lamb Osso Bucco, and Jerk Chicken Pasta. There’s also a lovely salad selection that includes the Classic Maurice, Michigan Maple, Blackened Perch and the Wild salad.
Though we ate outside, a quick walk through the restaurant gave a glimpse at the lovely woodwork and the walls in some parts covered with framed pictures of dogs. It was an interesting place, and the food was good.
The Moose Preserve is located at 43034 Woodward Avenue in Bloomfield Hills. For the full menu and more information check out their website at https://moosepreserve.com
