Reporter Food: Bittersweet Cafe in Downtown Holly
(Crystal A. Proxmire, June 18, 2021)
Holly, MI – Bittersweet Cafe is a quaint little spot in a strip of historic buildings in Downtown Holly, offering breakfast and lunch options.
For a recent morning of writing and enjoying a window seat, I had the Holly Boy Special. This breakfast basic had scrambled eggs, two country biscuits, and sausage gravy. I also ordered a Raspberry Creamosa, a deliciously refreshing drink made of sparkling water and cream with raspberry syrup served over ice and whipped cream on top. This also comes in a vanilla variety.
Bittersweet Cafe is one of a few regular Holly spots. Check out stories on their Battle Alley Beef Sandwich and Depot Turkey. Other menu choices include Cinnamon French Toast, the Breakfast Burrito, and the 1865 Sunrise Sandwich which has ham with melted swiss cheese, served on a butter croissant, served with a fresh fruit cup. Everything there has been consistently good.
