28 Year Old Pontiac Man Drowns in Galloway Lake
(OCSO, June 13, 2021)
Pontiac, MI – Deputies and the Waterford Regional Fire Department responded to the 1400 block of N. Perry Street, (Lake Galloway) on Friday for a report of a drowning victim. The victim had entered the water to retrieve his kayak that had floated away from the dock. A friend observed the victim struggling in the water approximately (50) feet from the shore and witnessed him going under. The victim did not resurface. The OCSO Dive Team was activated and responded to the scene along with the OCSO Marine Unit.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The victim was recovered in approximately ten feet of water by a Diver from the OCSO Dive Team. The victim was removed from the water and CPR was started. Paramedics transported the victim to McLaren Hospital – Oakland where he was temporarily revived and later died.
