Magician Wows Crowd in Holly, Returning June 12-13
(Crystal A. Proxmire, June 10, 2021)
Holly, MI – Children and young-at-heart adults gathered in Battle Alley Friday to enjoy a magical performance by Anthony Grupido.  After over a year off in-person performances, the 25-year-old master of illusion was excited to be back before the crowd.  Without giving away the show, we can tell you that members of the audience called upon to assist were left amazed by the magician’s insights and mystifying feats.
Many “oooohs” and “ahhhs” were had by all.  And there are many more to be had as Grupido is expected to return on June 12 and 13.
“We invested in this because it helps to bring people out to Holly, and to the businesses. You see people here, how many have ice cream from Ziggy’s?  Or stopped in to Battle Alley Coffee?  We’ve got all these great shops, and places to have dinner.  This gives the community something to do, but we also do it to help the businesses,” said Holly Area Chamber of Commerce President George Kullis, who is also the Township Supervisor.  The shows were a collaborate effort between the Chamber and the Downtown Development Authority.
Oakland County Times interviewed Guipido last month after an event announcing the Orion.Events series of concerts, comedy and magic shows happening at The Firebowl and Wildwood Amphitheater in Orion Township.  He shared his story of finding help and hope in life, and in addition to fun shows like those in Holly and Orion, he spends his time helping teens through mental-health awareness shows.  The shows use magic to help him connect and empower the youths.  Read more about his story here.
Check out the upcoming Holly performances:
