Husband in Custody After Commerce Twp Woman Found Dead

Commerce Township, MI – Deputies responded to 4100 Block Chesapeake Circle for a welfare check.
Deputies responded to the location for a welfare check of a 59-year-old female who did not report to work. Deputies made contact with the victim’s husband and the wife was located in the home’s bathroom floor obviously deceased and the victim of foul play.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Detectives and the O.C. Sheriff’s Forensic Lab responded to the scene and began their investigation. The Medical Examiner Office took custody of the deceased. Next of kin was notified. Suspect was taken into custody and transported to Oakland County jail. The incident remains under investigation and more information will be released tomorrow. As of 1645 hours today Detectives and the Sheriff’s Forensic Lab are still on scene.
VICTIM: 59-year-old female, resident of Commerce Township.
SUSPECT: 61-year-old male husband, resident of Commerce Township.

UPDATE:  An autopsy was performed today on the victim by the O.C. Medical Examiner’s Office. Cause was ruled slashing wounds to the neck and the manner of death was ruled homicide. Sheriff’s Detectives are still compiling their case and hope to submit it to the OC Prosecutor’s Office tomorrow morning. The victim has been identified as Tatiana Vuichard, age 59 of Commerce Township. She was employed as an administrative assistant in the Novi Community School District and worked there for 30 years. The suspect remains in custody at the Oakland County Jail.
