May 15 – Volunteers Needed for Headstone Cleaning at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak

The Royal Oak Memorial Society is asking for volunteers to help clean Veterans graves at Oakview Cemetery on Rochester Rd. just south of Twelve Mile in Royal Oak.   They are asking for Students, scout troops, Church groups, anyone who would like to help clean away the grass from the headstones & wipe them clean.  This will be May 15 at 10am. Meet just inside the cemetery just past the pond. Stay as long as you like.  Bring tools with you to help clean around the headstone.  Weed wacker works very well.  Brooms or rags help with cleaning off the headstones after removing the grass.

Also, save the date of May 29th at 10am, The Memorial Society will be placing flags on Veterans graves.  Everyone is welcome.  They will supply the flags.

Hope you can join us, the more volunteers,  the more headstones can be cleaned.
