FernCare Now Offering Free STD/HIV Testing Walk In Clinic

FernCare Free Clinic, Inc. (FernCare) will begin offering STD / HIV testing and counseling twice a month as part of a new partnership with Matrix Human Services’ Community Health Division. Matrix Human Services will conduct clinic sessions at FernCare that include testing, counseling, case management and medical care through its extended network to patients in the community.
While FernCare’s mission is to provide services to patients without insurance, this testing and counseling partnership will be made available to the public.
“This is a great new opportunity for not only our patients but the greater community as a whole.” According to FernCare’s Executive Director Dan Martin. “We are so pleased to be working with Matrix Human Services as they have a great reputation for helping under-served populations and a tremendous 
staff as well.”
Dave Perkins, VP of Community Health at Matrix says, “We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to bring additional HIV prevention services to the community to combat the spread of HIV through this partnership with FernCare known for the excellent medical care it provides to uninsured persons.”
Sessions will be offered beginning Friday April 16th from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM and again on Saturday April 24th from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. From there it’s expected to take place on the third Fridays and fourth Saturdays each month. Services will be offered on a walk-in basis, no appointments are necessary and there is no cost.
