GoFundMe Established to Help Family of Clawson Teen…
(Crystal A. Proxmire, March 22, 2021)
Clawson, MI – Fifteen year old Cailin Heath was fatally shot by her stepfather on March 21, and the community is coming together to help her family cover expenses.
According to Clawson Police, there had been a domestic situation that led to an argument.  Heath’s stepfather shot her as well as a neighbor, who survived, before barricading himself in his home and taking his own life.
Clawson Public Schools released a statement that included a link to the online fundraiser.
“Cailin was a quiet student with a sweet demeanor. She believed there were no obstacles she could not overcome or find a way around. She was a loyal friend and dedicated student. The District is responding to the situation by providing support to students and staff as they process the loss of Cailin. …Clawson Public Schools is very appreciative of Troy School District, Hazel Park School District, and Oak Park School District for sending members from their districts’ crisis teams to support our students today.”
In the GoFundMe fundraiser, family friend Aaron Erway said “heaven gained the sweetest, kindest, most beautiful angel….She was a friend to many, a big sister, a little sister, a cousin, a niece, an aunt, a grandchild and an amazing daughter.”
