Man Found Dead in Snow Next to Tire Store in Troy
(Troy Police, Feb. 15, 2021)
Troy, MI – At approximately 7:00 am, officers responded to the parking lot of Belle Tire (4966 Rochester Rd) on an unresponsive male subject laying next to the building.
Belle Tire employees arriving for work found the male subject laying next to the front entrance of the building.The male subject is in his late-30’s and was found to be deceased upon officer’s arrival.
It was unknown how long the subject was laying outside; however, he was partially covered by the overnight snow.Troy Police Investigators and Evidence Technicians were immediately called to the scene due to the suspicious nature of the death and an investigation was initiated.
Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and determined the subject suffered a single stab wound to the chest and ruled the death a homicide. Troy police also recovered a knife in the parking lot of Belle Tire.
Troy Police Investigators were able to quickly identify a possible suspect in this case and that person of interest is currently in police custody.
Investigators are working to ensure all proper notifications are made prior to releasing the victim’s identification information.It is anticipated that a warrant will be submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office in the coming days and more information can be released at that time.
