West Bloomfield, MI – Nestled in the middle of West Bloomfield Township is place where animals and people can find refuge from the surrounding suburban life. This 162 acre park is home to deer, fox, coyote, weasel, mink, salamanders, and of course birds.
A simple looped trail of 1.3 miles takes visitors through a variety of habitats and connects to a secondary .5 mile loop.
It’s simple to navigate, but challenging to walk in the winter as the trail becomes packed with ice and there are some tricky steep spots. These challenges are worth it though as the trail leads over ravines and includes a couple scenic outlook points. The parking lot of the trail is also used by folks visiting the West Bloomfield Trail which provides a smoother place to walk, walk pets, and bike.
West Bloomfield Woods Nature Preserve is located at 4655 Arrowhead Road, West Bloomfield, MI 48323. Learn more at the West Bloomfield Parks website.
