Clawson Police Investigating Assault and Murder

Clawson, MI – On Sunday morning, Jan. 31, 2021, at approximately 12:30am, Clawson officers were dispatched to a Nakota address on the report of a male who entered the caller’s home and struck one of the occupants with a beer bottle, causing facial injuries, and an ambulance was requested.
Clawson Officers responded and found the suspect walking out of the victim’s home and he was placed under arrest for the assault. During the officer’s investigation, comments made by the suspect lead the officers to his Clawson home where a deceased male was located, victim of a gunshot.
No information is being released on the victim at this time, pending proper notification to family. The suspect is a 37 year old male from Clawson.
At this point there are no additional threats to the public, the only suspect in the case has been arrested. This is an ongoing investigation; additional information will be release when appropriate.
