Reporter Food: Voyager in Ferndale

Ferndale, MI – With “dockside” carryout service, Voyager, located at 600 Vester Street in Ferndale, has been packing up their famous seafood for carryout and delivery.
For a special evening I splurged on a Connecticut Lobster Roll, Winter Fennel Salad, and an order of Hushpuppies.
The Connecticut Lobster Roll is a generous portion of cooked lobster on a warm roll with brown butter, that came with a bag of Michigan-made chips. They also have Maine Lobster Rolls which are served cold with Duke’s Mayo, celery and chives.
I absolutely loved the Winter Fennel Salad, which was arugula with shaved fennel, blood orange, and chevre cheese.  The Hushpuppies were really flavorful, and the honey butter was perfect to spread on each bite.
Other menu items include Oysters, Dungeness Crab, Bay Scallop Spaghetti, Lump Crab Cakes, Blackened Whitefish Tacos and more.  There are also delicious side items like Curried Brussels Sprouts, Garlic-Roasted Roots, Fries, and Coleslaw. Voyager also has carryout cocktails, beer, and wine.
