Reporter Food: Charlie’s Restaurant in Madison Heights

Madison Heights, MI – Charlie’s Family Restaurant, located in the plaza at 12 Mile and Campbell in Madison Heights offers a large selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items that can be ordered carryout or delivered through Doordash.
I recently got breakfast and lunch there because it was so hard to decide.
While they may not look picture-perfect after a ride home, the strawberry blintz crepes – stuffed with a sweet cheese blend and topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream – were a joy to my taste buds. There are other varieties also, including blueberry and raspberry.
For a slightly more responsible lunch I picked the chicken strip wrap and chili cheese fries. The wrap came with breaded chicken strips wrapped up with lettuce, tomato, and ranch in a flour tortilla. This paired delightfully with the cheesy, chili-topped mountain of fries and the tangy pickle spear.
Charlie’s seven page menu has sections to suit almost anybody.
Pork Chops and Eggs has it’s place on the breakfast menu, as does Stuffed French Toast, Pigs in a Blanket, Homemade Potato Pancakes, and omelets like the Meat Lovers and the Club Omelette.
There are pitas, wraps, burgers, and a Coney Corner, followed by hoagies, ciabattas, melts, and sandwiches. Some South of the Border choices include the Taco Salad and Gigante Burrito.
For dinner one might try the Chicken Lemonato, Baked Ham, Gyro Platter, Stir Fry, or Italian dishes like Oven Baked Lasagna and Fettuccine Alfredo.
