Rochester Man Rents Gun, Kills Self at Gun Range

Independence Twp, MI – Deputies and the Fire Department responded to the Accurate Firearms Gun Range located at 6559 Dixie Highway on the report of a male shooting victim.
Upon Deputies arrival, Paramedics from ITFD were administering life saving measures to the victim.  Paramedics from ITFD transported the victim to McLaren Oakland Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Video of the incident was reviewed. The victim rented a handgun and while on the range turned the gun on himself in an apparent suicide.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  Detectives and an Investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office arrived on scene and began their investigations. An autopsy has been scheduled. The incident remains under investigation.
VICTIM INFORMATION:  34-year-old male, resident of the City of Rochester.
