Plane Crash in Lyon Twp Causes Three Deaths, House Fire

Lyon Twp, MI –  On Saturday afternoon Lyon Twp. Deputies and Fire Department responded to a plane crash into a residential home in the 57600 block of Russet.  The pilot and two passengers perished in the crash.
The residence became engulfed in flames.  The family inside was able to make it out of the home, although the family cat did not.
The deceased in the plane have been identified as David and Marie Compo and their college-aged son Dawson. David Compo was an experienced, licensed pilot. Their private plane crashed into the home about a half a mile north of New Hudson airport. The family had been flying back home from Georgia when the crash occurred at about 4pm Saturday. Compo had just finished his term as President of the Home Builders Association of SE Michigan.
