Reporter Food: China Fare in Ortonville

Ortonville, MI – While exploring in Ortonville for our #ShopLocal gift idea series, I decided to #DineLocal as well with some carryout from China Fare.
With an efficient set up for carryout and strict social distancing and sanitizing practices, China Fare seemed to be going above and beyond to help keep customers safe.
That same level of care seemed to go into their food.  I ordered an appetizer of pot stickers – dumplings filled with pork and fried. A lot of times restaurants serve the same kind, perfect little half moons that look like they all come from the same distributor.  These were different, and better. Nice thick breading, flavorful filling.  Good stuff.
The satay chicken was also exemplary. The rice was perfectly steamed. The sauce was rich and flavorful.  And the chicken had large, juicy, fresh pieces placed with care on skewers. I was impressed with both items.
There is a full menu of authentic Cantonese favorites like cashew shrimp, sesame chicken, sizzling beef with scallop, beef with broccoli and more. There are also Thai specials and Hong Kong style chow mein. And there is even a vegetarian section, with tofu and mushrooms playing starring roles.
