Dec. 1 – Project Blue Light Ceremony to Honor Fallen Officers
Hazel Park, MI – Over the last 16 years The Project Blue Light service has evolved and grown, but the purpose of the evening remains the same; to honor the fallen law enforcement professionals and Firefighters, remember those from the past and support those who continue to serve, keeping our neighborhood and communities safe. It is also a chance to live up to the pledge made with the loss of each hero, that we “Never Forget”
Due to Covid-19 and MDHHS guidelines, this years event will be modified and the location changed. It will take place at the Hazel Park Fallen Heroes Memorial located on the northeast corner of 9 Mile & John R roads, directly in front of City Hall.
On Dec. 1 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM people will be able to be part of a “Pass By” to leave a Blue or Red Light in memory of Michigan’s Fallen Law Enforcement Officers & Firefighters. Family members and/or Department Representatives of those lost in 2020 as well as our Fallen Heroes of The Past will once again be able to place a flower in the wreath in honor and memory of their loved ones.
Again, this is a Pass By, not a ceremony or gathering. Social Distancing will be followed and face covering are requested. Limited Lights will be available on site.”
