Reporter Food: Buddy’s Pizza
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Nov. 27, 2020)
Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Farmington Hills, Novi, Royal Oak, Troy, MI – One of the more popular pizza chains is locally-owned Buddy’s Pizza.  There are over 15 locations, including several in Oakland County.
I recently visited the Royal Oak location to carryout one of their specialty pizzas – the Henry Ford.  This deluxe deep dish pizza comes topped with Motor City cheese blend, red onion, seasoned ground beef, smoked bacon, bleu cheese and tomato basil sauce.  The zesty sauce comes dolloped on top, and the dough is thick and greasy like Detroit-style pizza should be.
Many of their pizza have locally-themed names. The Detroit Zoo pizza has Motor City cheese blend, roasted tomatoes, fresh basil and tomato basil sauce and the DPTV has The ultimate pepperoni pizza! Original pepperoni under our Motor City cheese blend and our Old World pepperoni on top.
Other options include the Original Veggie, the Greek, the Hawaiian, the BBQ Chicken and more. In addition to pizza, Buddy’s has minestrone soup, spaghetti, mostaccioli, cheese ravioli, mac & cheese, and a selection of salads.
