Ferndale Library Board Accepting Applications to Fill Vacancy
(FADL, Nov. 24, 2020)
Ferndale, MI- The Ferndale Area District Library Board of Directors has announced the resignation of Board member Beau Perry. Perry served on the Board since January 2019.
Since he is relocating outside of Ferndale, Perry is thus not eligible to continue to serve on the Board. “Beau will be missed on the library board,” said Judeen Bartos, Board President. “He was a thoughtful and involved member who was a liaison to the Friends of the Ferndale Library and also served on the Arts and Exhibition committee.”
Individuals interested in being considered for an appointment to the open seat may review the application process and complete the application materials provided on the library’s website at www.ferndalepubliclibrary.org.
The FADL Board of Directors is a 7-member governing board of elected officials serving 4-year terms in staggered years. When a member resigns before their term expires, the Library Board may appoint a replacement. Perry’s term of office was to expire on December 31, 2022. The candidate chosen to be appointed will fulfill the remainder of this term of office and then may run for election to the board if they so choose.
The position will remain open until filled. Applicants should review the specific criteria other Board Members will apply in the evaluation of candidates for this vacant position, which is currently posted on the Ferndale Library’s website.
