Ferndale Man Accused of Filming with Hidden Camera in Bathroom

Ferndale, MI – A Ferndale man has been charged with five counts of “Surveiling an Unclothed Person” after police say the man recorded five people with a hidden camera in the bathroom of a Ferndale home.
According to a statement released by Ferndale Police:
“In July of 2020, Ferndale Detectives began an investigation into the suspect.  Detectives learned that the suspect was recording unclothed victims in a restroom with a hidden camera.  The suspect saved the recordings but did not distribute them.  Detectives identified and interviewed all the victims of the crimes. The suspect was arrested by the Ferndale Police Department on November 16, 2020.
“On November 16, 2020, Tyler Tierney, 29, of Ferndale was arraigned by 43rd District Court Magistrate Brennan for five counts of Surveilling an Unclothed Person, each is a five year felony. Tierney was given a $20,000 personal bond and is scheduled to appear next on November 23, 2020 at 1:00 pm.”
Ferndale Police Public Information Officer Jill Mahlmeister said that the recording happened in a residence, and that the five victims were all adults.
