Video: A Trio of Sandhill Cranes Strolling, Singing at Stony Creek Metropark

Shelby Twp, MI- With the freshly fallen leaves giving way to fantastic views along the trails of Stony Creek Metropark, Oakland County Times was able to film a trio of Sandhill Cranes strolling along in shallow water.
At first the birds were quiet, but after about just a bit of filming, the biggest of the cranes began to call out in a voice that echoed across the waterways, and the two smaller birds made quieter songs in reply.
This kind of interaction is common in families, where a male and female mate for life and raise their youngsters together.  Here is about three minutes of nature, with the songs beginning around the 47 second mark.  Enjoy!

Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton MetroPark system. The park spreads into both Oakland County and Macomb, with the entrance being at 4300 Main Park Road Shelby Township, MI 48316.
