Shots Fired at Shell Station in Farmington Hills, Police Seek Suspects
The Farmington Hills Police Department is actively investigating a shooting incident at the Shell Gas Station located at Northwestern Highway and Middlebelt Road. The incident occurred on October 3, 2020 at approximately 11:40 PM.
Officers responded to the location after receiving several 9-1-1 calls reporting gunshots in the area. All parties involved in the incident fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a large group of individuals were gathered in the station’s parking lot near the gas pumps when the suspect vehicle, a dark colored sedan, stopped on Northwestern Highway at the station’s driveway. An occupant of the suspect vehicle fired five shots in the direction of the group gathered in the station lot. The suspect vehicle fled eastbound on Northwestern Highway. All members of the group entered their vehicles and fled in various directions.
The Farmington Hills Police Department has received no reports of and discovered no evidence of injury at the scene. Investigators discovered that the incident appears to be a continuation of an ongoing altercation between those involved and no indication of a threat to the general public at this time. Detectives are actively investigating this incident and uniformed officers will be conducting increased patrols in the area.
