30 Year Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck, Birmingham Police Seek Witnesses

On Tuesday, September 22, at approximately 3:30 a.m. Birmingham dispatch received a 911 call from a driver who stated she hit a pedestrian on Maple west of Coolidge.
The driver, a 60-year-old female from Bloomfield Hills, stated she hit a person while driving west on Maple. The driver told officers she passed through the intersection of Maple and Coolidge on a green light when she struck the pedestrian.
Officers located a 30-year-old male from Birmingham laying in the roadway who succumbed to his injuries.
Birmingham Police is a member of the South Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) who was called to the scene to conduct an investigation. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone who witnessed the accident is encouraged to call the Birmingham Police Department at 248-530-1870.
