Two Oak Park Teens Dead, Four Injured, in Friday Night Crash
Oak Park, MI – Two Oak Park teens are dead and four others injured after their vehicle left the roadway and crashed into tree Friday night. Oak Park Schools released a statement about the death, saying:
“Oak Park High School Families,
We are saddened to share that six Oak Park High School students were involved in a serious car accident resulting in two fatalities. We remain in close contact with parents of individuals involved and the police department. We are honoring the parents request to keep specific details confidential, therefore we are waiting to release the names of the students involved and the severity of their injuries. We will continue to update you as we receive new information.
This is a tragic event that affects our entire school community. We will provide support to students, families and staff at Oak Park High School today, Saturday, September 19th from 1:00pm-4:00pm. We will have district counselors, social workers, and school psychologists available to provide emotional support and grief counseling during this difficult time. If you are unable to come to the building, we have support staff available by phone at 248-336-7667. Our staff is prepared to provide ongoing support in the days and weeks ahead.
We are committed to keep everyone safe and will be adhering to all CDC guidelines including temperature check and pre-screen health questions. Social distancing and masks will be honored to ensure the highest level of safety precautions during this time. Individuals can enter the building through the main entrance by the circular driveway.

Various news outlets have reported that the students were traveling on Telegraph Road in Southfield Friday night at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and left the roadway.
