Reporter Food: House Omelette at Val’s Polish Kitchen in Rochester Hills

(Crystal A. Proxmire, Sept. 10, 2020)

Rochester Hills, MI – Prior to the pandemic, I had a chance to visit Val’s Polish Kitchen at 224 E Auburn Rd in Rochester Hills.  This cozy diner had a menu full of traditional Polish items, as well as some American classics.

For me this was a quick and easy breakfast before heading off for a hike.  How could I resist the House Polish Omelette, made with smoked kielbasa, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese. Served with toast and sliced and fried American Fries, this offered a hearty start to the day. I also added on a small Dill Pickle Soup to my breakfast,  just because. And that was a great choice.

Other omelette choices include meat lovers and vegetarian, as well as popular choices like the Western, the Spanish, and the Spinach.

For those that prefer a sweet start, French Toast and Pancakes are also on the menu.

Val’s also serves lunch and dinner, with salads, burgers, sandwiches and entrees. Chicken Dumpling, Chicken Noodle, Cabbage, and Dill Pickle soup are offered daily, with additional soups rotated in.

I’m hoping to go back to try the Kielbasa and Egg Sandwich on grilled rye, or maybe the Stuffed Cabbage or City Chicken.
