OCHN Grant Helps Support Youth Mobile Crisis Team

Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) was recently awarded a grant to expand Intensive Crisis Stabilization Services (ICSS) to children with serious emotional disturbance who do not have Medicaid.The Oakland County Youth Mobile Crisis Team began in 2018 to assist families and individuals across Oakland County. The Youth Mobile Crisis Team helps children, teens, and young adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis.
Funded by OCHN, and provided by New Oakland Family Centers, the youth mobile crisis program includes:

Rapid mobile response with therapists who come to your location to help
On-the-spot counseling by mental health professionals to help stabilize emotional and/or behavioral functioning
Assessment and coordination for continued stabilization
Connections and referrals to ongoing services and supports

The Oakland County Youth Mobile Crisis Team is available in Oakland County, Monday
through Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. seven days per week, including holidays. Deployment of the Youth Mobile Crisis Team is based on the supports determined to stabilize the individual experiencing a mental health crisis. Following the mobile team’s deployment, the team will arrive within 60-minutes to the individual or family, at home or in the community.
The Oakland County Youth Mobile Crisis Team works closely with Common Ground, OCHN Core Provider Agencies, hospital emergency departments, law enforcement, schools, and other community partners to support youth and their families during and following a crisis.
