Reporter Food: Spin-Art Blackened Chicken Pizza at Rosie O’Grady’s in Ferndale
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Sept. 4, 2020)
Ferndale, MI – Rosie O’Grady’s was known for their pizza way back in the day, and as the COVID-19 crisis hit the restaurant industry hard, Rosie’s adapted with a streamlined menu and a dive back to the past with an assortment of classic pies.
The Carnivore pizza comes topped with sausage, bacon, ham and chicken. And for those that don’t want meat, The Herbivore is piled with green peppers, onions, mushrooms, black olives, and banana peppers. Other specialties include the BBQ Chicken, BLT, and Crunchy Hawaiian.
And there’s the Spin-Art Blackened Chicken. That’s the one that I tried. This tasty creation makes sauce of Rosie’s classic spinach artichoke dip, and adds blackened chicken along with the warm melty goodness of mozzarella for a delicious pizza experience.
Of course there are many toppings for those that want to build their own pizza, including some fun ones like pineapple, anchovies, jalapenos, bacon, and tomato along with the basics like pepperoni, mushroom, and olives (black or green). Pizzas can be picked up, delivered, or eaten onsite with both dine-in and patio seating available.
