Dad Picking Up Teen Daughter Shot with His Own Gun During Scuffle, Others Injured

Pontiac, MI – Deputies were dispatched to McLaren Oakland Hospital for a gunshot victim in the emergency room. The victim had driven been to the hospital by his wife. When Deputies arrived, they were met with a second victim from the same incident, who stated she had been injured in a physical altercation before the shooting.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  Deputies spoke with the male who had been shot. The male victim stated he had gone to the parking lot of Duckett’s Bar with his wife to pick up their 16-year-old daughter. The daughter was with a group of other juveniles. The male victim told his daughter to get into the car. The daughter refused and a group of male juveniles began yelling at the male victim. A fight broke out between the juveniles in the parking lot. The male victim tried to break up the fight. The male victim had his Glock 9mm in a holster on his hip during the scuffle. The male victim felt some one come up behind him and take the gun. Several shots were fired and one of the shots struck the victim in the leg. His wife drove the victim to the hospital.  The male victim did not see who took the pistol.
The female victim #2 was at the bar waiting outside for a ride with a group of friends, when the male victim and his wife pulled up and told their daughter to get in the car. An argument ensued and the female victim #2 was punched in the face by an unknown female assailant. Female victim #2 was given a ride to the hospital by her friend who had picked her up. She had suffered an injury to her lip and forehead.
Deputies returned to Duckett’s Bar to look for evidence. When they arrived, they found a third victim, who had a laceration to the side of her face, identified as female victim #3.  She had returned to the bar to find her keys she had dropped during the fight. Female victim #3 stated she was at the bar with friends, standing around the parking lot talking. She observed some juveniles fighting and then heard gun shots. She hid behind a vehicle and felt something strike her in the forehead. The female victim #3 did not know what hit her in the forehead. Star EMS was called to treat the female victim #3. She refused transport to the hospital and stated she would seek treatment on her own.
Several 9mm shell casings were found in the parking lot along with other evidence. They were collected and marked as evidence. The 9mm Glock was entered in LEIN as stolen. Detective were called in to begin their investigation which is ongoing.
