Oak Park Man Charged with Firing Shots at Another Driver During Road Rage Incident
On Thursday, July 30, 2020 at approximately 5:42 p.m. Ferndale Police responded to the area of eastbound Eight Mile Rd near Livernois for a possible shooting. Officers met the complainant in a parking lot near Eight Mile Rd and Woodward Ave. The complainant stated another motorist had shot at his vehicle during a traffic altercation. There were no injuries and suspect then fled the scene.
The investigation revealed the suspect’s identity and he was arrested several hours later by Ferndale Police detectives. The case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office and one suspect was charged.
On Friday, August 14, 2020, Lahab Goriel, 37, of Oak Park was arraigned by 43rd District Court Magistrate Brennan on one count Discharging Firearm from Vehicle, one count Firearm in Possession by Felon, and two counts Felony Firearm 2nd Offense. Goriel was given a $20,000 personal bond and is scheduled to appear on August 31, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
