Birmingham Police Seek Driver Who Fatally Struck Pedestrian on Woodward

Birmingham, MI – The Birmingham Police Dept. is investigating a fatal hit and run crash that occurred at Woodward and Forest.
On Aug. 8, 2020 around 1:50am a 40 year old man from Southfield was crossing Woodward near Forest in the City of Birmingham. The pedestrian was not utilizing a nearby crosswalk. A northbound vehicle struck the pedestrian, briefly stopped, then fled the scene eastbound on Maple from Woodward.
Investigators believe the suspect vehicle to be a 2013-2017 Chevrolet Traverse, dark or maroon in color. The vehicle will have moderate left front-end damage.
The Birmingham Police Department was assisted by the SE Oakland County Crash Investigating Team comprising Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Clawson, and Troy Police Departments.
