Sept. – Virtual5k Throughout Michigan to Support Accessibility
Throughout the month of September, the Michigan Parks and Recreation Foundation is hosting a Virtual 5K (3.1 miles) to raise funds to provide accessible recreation opportunities for parks and programs. You can run, walk, skateboard, bike, or swim a 5K during the month of September!
The Michigan Parks and Recreation Foundation is committed to proving parks and recreation matters – that they improve quality of life while contributing enormously to our economy. It is their goal to make recreation available to all Michigan citizens, and we need your help to make this happen!
A virtual race takes place from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, trail, or treadmill. You can complete the 5K at your own pace and time it yourself.
The cost to participate is $36 ($33 fee plus the $3 processing fee). You can sign up here: https://runsignup.com/Race/Register/?raceId=58442
All participants will receive a participation medal, a t-shirt, and most importantly, a healthier body! Participants that raise over $250 will also receive a sweatshirt.
If you are unable to participate, but still wish to donate, you may do so on behalf of a participant or charity. If you are interested in making a donation, please visit: https://runsignup.com/Race/Donate/MI/YourLocalCommunity/LoveYourParksVirtual5K
