Oakland County Hosting COVID-Prevention Art and Video Contests for Kids and Adults
(Oakland County, July 9, 2020)
YOUR art has power.
Art can save lives & bring us together.
Oakland Together COVID-19 Safety Video & Art Contest is an online art competition for Oakland County residents, 10 years and older.
While our efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 have made a difference, it is still a serious health concern in Oakland County. The best way to stop the spread of COVID-19 is by wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.
There’s a lot you, as an artist, can do to help keep our community safe and promote public health. Artists may submit a video or 2-D artwork showcasing COVID-19 safety by wearing a facial mask or practicing social distancing
“Wearing a face mask makes a difference in stopping the spread of the virus; washing your hands makes a difference and so does social distancing. I’m certain there are a lot of creative minds out there who can deliver the message that COVID-19 is still with us and it will take all of us working as Oakland Together to beat this insidious virus,” said Oakland County Executive David Coulter.
Entries will be submitted online for panel judging to determine the top 3 artists in each category. Public vote will ultimately decide the winners.
