Hazel Park Schools Need 9,000 Masks, Here’s How to Help
(Crystal A. Proxmire, June 10, 2020)
Hazel Park, MI – While plans are not clear yet as far as how schools in Michigan could reopen in the fall, one thing is a given – face masks will be needed.
And they aren’t necessarily easy, or affordable, to get.
That’s why Hazel Park School Superintendent Amy Kruppe has put the call out to the community.  Aiming for three masks per student, Kruppe is hoping to secure 9,000 masks to give students so they can protect themselves and others from the deadly coronavirus.
Those who want to donate masks or fabric can do so in the mailbox of the Ford Administration Building, 1620 E. Elza, Hazel Park, MI 48073.
“We want to make this fun for our community and friends and for our students.  We will welcome any masks people want to give,” Kruppe said.  ” We have had so many community members, teachers, parents and alumni supporting us during this time. The spirit has been amazing!  I would like to continue carrying this on. There is such a special support and feeling in Hazel Park.”
